I am the project manager and game designer on this client project. We got in contact with this client through our professors at DAE, where we got the opportunity to work on this project for an entire semester. This involved creating concepts, iterating on them, and cooperating with my team members. After we decided on a concept, we reached out to the client and started frequently communicating to design and create the game to fit their platform's needs. It was a great learning experience in project management and designing for children and of course a lot of fun!
This project is essentially a slapstick road safety game, where kids are made a little bit more familiar with traffic and road safety (by employing crossroads, stop signs, helmets, traffic lights, etc. to survive) with a large emphasis on comedy and entertainment (explosions, pogo-sticking to class, multiple helmets on head, ...). It's meant for children, which is why this type of humour has been chosen together with our client. The game is meant to be entertaining and forgiving, which is also established in the design pillars in the Game Design Document.
